Where Does the Food Come From?
35%

Donated Food

Most of our food is donated through food rescue, but we also receive it from local businesses, schools and community food drives.

65%

Purchased Food

To supplement donations and meet the nutritional needs of those we serve, we leverage state and local relationships to purchase food at the lowest possible price.

Food Rescue

The Bridge Builders Inc. Community Food Services Centre rescues safe, surplus food going to waste so that it can instead help nourish those struggling with hunger. Retailers, farmers, produce distributors and foodservice operators donate food that is close to best before date, overstock, seasonal or cosmetically damaged.

Where Does the Food Go?

Direct Distribution

We provide food directly to families, seniors, and other individuals in need through our onsite

Community Food Centre.

Need Food

Life can get hard — and when it does, we’ll always be here to support you when you need it the most. If you or your family need food, you can visit our Community Food Centre in Greenfields, Mandurah once a week to receive a food hamper — including fresh produce, dairy, bread and pantry staples (when available).

From the moment you arrive, our staff and volunteers are here to support you, whether that means helping you find your kids a great snack or simply being someone to talk to!

Please note from the 1st January 2023 a $5 service fee will be charged. Like many in our community the rising cost of living is impacting our organisation and unfortunately to continue to provide this service to our valued clients we need to reinstate a service fee. The fee will enable us to continue to purchase pantry items such as, shelf stable dairy products, pastas & rice to assist those in need in our local community to put food on the table. Unfortunately, these items are rarely donated by local food suppliers and are purchased by us. Thank you for your understanding and please if you have any concerns talk to one of our staff members.
