Junior Board 

Junior Board 

Our Junior Board is being established to empower the youth in our community to support our mission whilst developing their skills and knowledge base. The Junior Board comprises of young people within our community who have a desire for social change. 

 

Junior Board members participate in many aspects of Bridge Builders Inc. programs including community outreach, event planning, and volunteer recruitment. As a Junior Board member, you will also be invited to serve as a volunteer for major Bridge Builders events. 

Objectives


The objectives of the Junior Board are to.

 

  1. Raise the profile of Bridge Builders Incorporated within the younger generation of Mandurah and Peel community

  2. Raise awareness of Poverty issues within the Mandurah and Peel community

  3. Raise funds to assist Bridge Builders Incorporated in providing services to those in need within the Mandurah and Peel community.

  4. Develop business, leadership, and governance skills of the next generation.

Requirements to Serve on the Junior Board
 

  • Must be a high school student.

  • Must be 18 years of age or younger.

  • Must be able to attend at least 4 meetings in the 12month period.

  • A member of the Junior Board must have good standing within their school.

Period of Commitment

We ask that each member commits to a 12-month period of March to February (the following year).

Meeting Frequency


The Junior Board will meet at least 6 times per year or as often as they consider appropriate to meet their objectives.

 

Responsibilities

  • Commit to a one-year membership term

  • Serve on at least one Junior Board working party i.e., Operation Stocking Stuffer Campaign | Golf fore Groceries |  Cubby Campout  |  Dine Out to Help Out

  • Attend 50% of special events

  • The Junior Board will work together with the Bridge Builders Board to raise $10,000 through its events and to convert 10% of attendees to individual donors via a year-end campaign.

  • Each member will aim to raise $500 in donations and introduce one new donor by completion of their twelve-month term.

 

Relationship with Bridge Builders Board of Directors


The Junior Board is an advisory body, not a decision-making body, The Bridge Builders Board of Directors will work with the Junior Boards Chairperson to ensure clarity of the Junior Board’s on-going objectives. A Board member will be assigned to mentor the Junior Board and attend Junior Board meetings as support along with the CEO.
