The Benefits of Hosting a Food Drive

When you host a food drive, you're doing more than just collecting non-perishable food - you're also engaging your community members and helping to spread the word on the issue of hunger and food insecurity. Plus, you get to show your neighbours that you care about their wellbeing. It doesn't matter if you do it in person or virtually - the impact of your drive will be felt for miles around!

Get Creative & Have Fun!

Hosting a Fund & Food Drive is a blast! You can have fun with it by coming up with creative ways to get your neighbourhood involved. For example, you could host a virtual food drive bingo game or a friendly competition to see which street can collect the most food. The possibilities are endless!

  • Engage your community members in a fun and meaningful way

  • Help spread the word on the issue of hunger and food insecurity

  • Provide an incredible service to your neighbours in need

Host a Traditional Drive

Are you looking for a way to make a difference in your community? Why not consider running a food drive with your workplace, church, school, or other organization? It's easy and rewarding — and we've got the tools and tips to help you get started.

Step 1: Gather Supplies

Choose sturdy containers to collect food in — think boxes, crates, and pails. And don't forget to collect funds, too! Dollars can go a long way in helping us feed more people in need.

Step 2: Spread the Word

Let your network know about your drive. Use social media, emails, or good old-fashioned word-of-mouth to get the word out. Tell people why you’re taking action and how they can help.

Step 3: Collect the Food

Don’t know what to collect? We’ve got you covered! Check out our Needed Items list for a quick overview of what we need most. From there, you can tailor your drive to the items that are most needed in the community.

Step 4: Drop It Off!

When you’re done, drop off your donations at the Community Food Services Centre. We’ll make sure the food gets to people who need it most.

So what are you waiting for? Let’s turn caring into action!

🍓 Food Drive Tips • Establish a contact person to manage communications, logistics, goals. • Define a timeline for your food drive – we recommend two to four weeks. • Label sturdy containers for food collection (plastic bins, heavy cardboard boxes, etc.) and place them at convenient drop-off points. • Promote your food drive! Be sure to let your community know when and where to donate.

🍒 Food Donation Dropoffs • You do not need an appointment to drop off your food donation. Just swing by our Community Food Services Centre Mon, Wed-Fri: 9:00am to 2:00pm • Our team can help you unload the items. Please also provide our staff with the organisation and contact information for your drive and/or food donation. • Warehouse Locations 370 Pinjarra Road PINJARRA WA 6210

🍎 Collecting Funds Make an even bigger impact by collecting funds along with food! Due to our positive relationships with food industry donors $1 provides 2 meals to those in need. Here are some ways to collect funds: • Set up a Virtual Drive where friends, family and colleagues can donate to support your drive. • Collect cash donation and deposit them in our bank. Please reference your group/organisation on the payment: Bridge Builders Inc. BSB: Acc #:
