NANNA's KITCHEN
Nanna’s Kitchen opens the doors of 1church’s kitchen facilities to parents experiencing homelessness or housing instability, offering them the resources and support to prepare meals for their families.
A Community Kitchen for Families in Need to Discover the Joy of Cooking and Connection.
Recognising the challenges that come with unstable housing—where access to cooking facilities is often limited—Nanna’s Kitchen provides a safe, welcoming environment where families can enjoy the experience of cooking and sharing meals together. Our volunteer 'nannas' are on hand to guide parents in meal preparation, using the church’s fully-equipped kitchen, giving parents a much-needed sense of normalcy.
A Community of Support & Shared Experiences
While we cannot solve the housing crisis, Nanna’s Kitchen offers a meaningful solution to one of its consequences: the inability for parents to provide home-cooked meals for their children. In this space, parents can reconnect with the everyday joy of feeding their families, while also receiving emotional and practical support from a caring community.
The kitchen serves as a haven for families facing difficult circumstances, creating opportunities to foster connections with others, share stories, and build a sense of hope. At Nanna’s Kitchen, families not only find a meal—they find community, comfort, and empowerment in the midst of their journey.
